Eight members and five adults traveled to San Francisco on July 13 to participate in the Golden Gate International Festival for Children's and Youth Choirs, sponsored by the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir, Piedmont, CA. Other festival participants were Cantabella Children's Choir (Livermore, CA), Colorado Springs Children's Choir (Colorado Springs, CO), Hangzhou Aiyue Tianshi Choir (People's Republic of China), Kaohsiung Municipal Children's Choir (Taiwan), MidtVest Pigekor (Denmark), Ragazzi Young Men's Ensemble (San Mateo, CA), and Singers Marin-Les etoiles (Mill Valley, CA).
The representatives from Mississippi Boychoir ranged in age from second through twelfth grades and sang selections from the Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, and Contemporary eras in their individual concerts. They also participated in the Festival Youth Choir and the Mass Choir

The travelers returned to Jackson on July 20 after an extra day of sightseeing at the Golden Gate Bridge and Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf. (See pictures in the Gallery menu)
The discipline displayed and the high level of artistry presented by some of the choirs at this festival was exemplary and very inspiring.
