Boys who love to sing are encouraged to audition for the 2009-2010 Season of Mississippi Boychoir. Choir membership is by invitation after an audition, which can be arranged with the choir’s Manager, Betty Jacobs, 601-366-0579, or the conductor, Margaret E. Thomas, 601-554-3222.

The choir consists of young men, first through twelfth grades, and for the first time since its founding fifteen years ago, the choir will occasionally be augmented by alumni who are now in college.

“It’s been a joy having long-term members who are launching their higher education next year to ask if they can continue singing with the Boychoir,” states Thomas, who founded and conducts the choir. “This seems to be a common practice in boychoirs in other parts of the country, and it is wonderful to reach a time when our older members want to continue singing with the younger boys and and to begin giving back to the program that has been of value to them through the years.”

“Perhaps we’ll be auditioning for our 2009-2010 Season young men who twelve years from now will want to begin giving back to the program in the same way our older young men will do next year.”
